PERSONAL Mr and Mrs J. T. Norton have returned from the North Island- - Mr Norton attended the annual confer* ence of the New Zealand master bakers, held recently at Wanganui. Dance The social club of the motor-liner Rangitiki will hold a dance in the Excelsior Hall to-night, commencing at 8 o'clock. Swimming The Lyttelton Men’s Amateur Swimming Club held two races at Corsair Bay last evening. Results were:— 50 Yards Morris l, A. Whithap 3, U Coombes 3, Time, 31 3-9 sec, Nine started. 220 Yards Championship—W, Moms I, T. Dall'ow 2, P. Reardon 3. Time, 3min 12 l-ssec. Seven started, A presentation of a trophy was made to R. Kiddey, winner of the handicap dive held at Diamond Harbour on SundaySummer Flower Show , It was unfortunate for the promoters of the annual summer flower show end sale of work, held in st; Saviour’s Parish Hall yesterday in aid of the church funds, that the rains of last week affected the number of entries. However, there was quite a good display, and the stalls did a brisk trade. The show was opened by the Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton).
