ESTIMATE OF AMOUNT NEEDED PROPOSED CONFERENCE IN APRIL (Received February 23, 8.41 p.m.) LONDON, February 22. The shipping companies affected are understood to have supplied the British Government with an estimate of the subsidy required to enable a profitable continuance of the Pacific trade, though the percentage liability of Britain, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia is not specified. The companies welcome the proposed British and Dominions' conference in London in April.
