SALVATION ARMY AT NEW BRIGHTON
SPECIAL HARVEST FESTIVAL SERVICES * :; i Special services held by the New Brighton Corps of the Salvation Army yesterday, to celebrate the annual harvest festival were well attended. During the day three services were taken by Major and Mrs Suter, divisional commanders for Christchurch. Mrs Suter was the preacher in the morning., taking as her text, "Whatsoever a man soweth. that shall he also reap." CaDtain and Mrs Reed, leaders of the New Brighton Corps, sang a duet. "The Love of Jesus." At the afternoon service, Major Suter took as his text "Keep me as the apDle of the eye," speaking especially to the younger members of the congregation. A hymn, "What Shall the Harvest Be." was sung by the """oung People's Songsters, and Mrs Major Suter sang a sacred solo, "J"<?t One Touch."
Major Suter conducted another service in the evening, when the new corps band was in attendance. The Young People's Songsters sang the hymn "Sowing the Seed." and a sacred solo was sung by Mrs C. Chapman.
