BOY SCOUTS CELEBRATE FOUNDER'S DAY

Christchurch boy scouts, rovers, and wolf cubs celebrated their Founder's Day with a parade and a service in the Cathedral yesterday afternoon, at which there was a good; attendance. Saturday was the seventy-ninth birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, the World Chief Scout. Draped colours were carried and all ranks wore mourning for King/George. The service began with the singing of the National Anthem, and the lesson was read by the Dominion Chief Commissioner (Dr. P. Clenneli Fenwick). A short address was given by Dean Julius, and all scouts performed the ceremony of the reaffirmation of the scout promise.
