CRUELTY IN BIG GAME FISHING

NO DEFINITE CONCLUSION SYDNEY, February 21. The Council of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has been unable to reach a.definite conclusion on whether big game fishing is cruel, because of the variance of expert opinion. The council says that in any case no legal action is at present possible, and even if the law were amended to include fish as animals, it would not apply to fishing beyond the three-mile limit. Therefore it would be of no practical value.
