UNIQUE HEATING SYSTEM With a view to maximum efficiency with the minimum maintenance costs, no expense has been spared to make the heating system of the new St Joseph's Home a marvel of economy and dependability. The idea otone power unit for all purposes such as heating of the building, domestic hot water supply, cooking, laundry, and clothes drying, has been earned out to the letter. Power for these is provided by one central unit, with the heating of the special sick ward so arranged that heat is available any hour throughout the year, while washing can be speedily dried even in bad weather. A feature of this engineering achievement is the automatic nature of the plant, the power unit of which consists of two steam boilers fired automatically by the Vale Automatic Underfeed Stoker, requiring the very minimum of attention.
Entirely New Zealand Made Besides being a fine example of engineering skill, the fact that ,the whole of the heating equipment was manufactured in New Zealand is unique in engineering records and a high tribute to Vale and Co., Ltd., who were responsible for the manufacturing and installation, including the Cookery Equipment, of Everbrite Stainless Steel. . . ,„ , \, The growing activities, of Vale and Co., Ltd., in this class of work cover a wide field of large businesses and also private homes.
