The Christchurch Scout Gilwell The camp staff has arrangements in hand for the fourth Christchurch Scout Gilwell course, which commences at North Beach next Saturday, provided a sufficient number of candidates have paid their fees to Dominion headquarters by 12 noon to-day. Twenty-three names of those desirous of taking the course have been submitted, and each has been asked by circular memorandum to pay his financial deposit of 5? to secure his place in the course. No late entries can be considered, as seven days is little enough time to allow the camp staff to make final arrangements. Kingr Honours First Scout His Majesty the King of Denmark has conferred the Knight Cross of the Order of Dannebroge upon Mr Ove Holm for his great service to Danish youth, Mr Ove Holm was the first scout to be enrolled" in Denmark; he was then a boy at Hellerup School. He became a patrol leader and is now chief commissioner of Det Danske Spejderkorps. Mr Holm has given 25 years' continuous service to the movement and was the chief organiser of the 1924 jamboree at Copenhagen. Governor-General Invested as Boy ■ ';>■ v.;?. ';/'- ' jScout ■ Lord Tweedsmuir, the GovernorGeneral of Canada, has been invested as chief scout of the Boys Scouts' Association in Canada, in succession to Lord Bessborough. Lord Tweedsmuir accepted the office in the presence of members of the executive committee of the Canadian General Council of the Boys Scouts' Association, and was invested in the office of chief scout for Canada'by Sir Edward Beatty, president of the association,. . The ceremony followed very closely that of the enrolment of a tenderfoot, and the new chief scout made his scout promise. Afterwards Lord Tweedsmuir. aaid, "I am very proud to have an official connexion with a movement which I have watched with admiration from its beginning. It was founded by a very old friend of mine, and there is no youth movement in the world comparable to it. If I can do anything while I am here in Canada to help this great work, please command me."
