REFORMATIVE DETENTION FOR TWO YEARS
i .■■■ SENTENCE ON SERIOUS CHARGE Reformative detention for a period not exceeding two years was the sentence passed by his Honour Mr Justice Northcroft on Charles Roland Talbot in the Supreme Court yesterday. Talbot; a single man, aged 29 .years, app'eared for sentence on a charge of attempting to discharge a firearm with intent to do grievous bodily harm. it Mr W. R. Lascelles, who appeared for Talbot, urged upon his Honour that Talbot's offence was due to a long period of stress upon a-sensitive and kindly nature.' His Honour, in passing sentence, said he thought that Talbot should be put under restraint in his own interests. He, would ,be sentenced to reformative -detention -for a: period not exceeding two years. ■>,.-_,,
