SODEMAN APPEALS

MELBOURNE, February 2L Arnold Sodeman, who was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death on February 19, has lodged an appeal against his.conviction. [Statements of his confession to four murders which were alleged to have been made to the police by Arnold Sodeman. aged 35 years, of Leongatha. were read in the Criminal Court when the trial of Sodeman on a charge of having murdered June Rushmer, aged 6J years, at Leongatha on December 2 was commenced. The alleged statements contained admissions of having murdered Ethel Bd» shaw, aged 13, at Inverloch, on January 1, 1935; Mena Griffiths, aged 12, at Ormond, on November 9, 1930; ana Hazel Wilson, aged 16, at Ormond. an i January 10. 1930. Sodeman pleaded jfcot gwlty.l
