GERMANY'S NEEDS SUPPLIED
SYNTHETIC RUBBER AND PETROL
(Received February 16, 9.28 p.m.) BERLIN, February 15. At the opening of the International Automobile Exhibition, Herr Hitler said: "Germany has solved the problems of assuring a sufficient supply of synthetic petrol, and of producing usable synthetic rubber. The need of an adequate petrol supply may be regarded as overcome. Chemists have worked miracles, and synthetic rubber, tested by the'army and in other competent quarters, has surpassed natural rubber in durability by 10 to 30 per cent."
