NAZIS THREATEN SHOOTING
OPPOSITION BY CLERGY
SPEECH CAUSES FEAR IN SILESIA
(vmrtb pjtiss AgaocuTtojr—cofi»io»t.) (Received February 16, 10.15 p.m.) BERLIN, February 15. Excitement and apprehension have been caused in Upper Silesia by a speech by a leading Nazi offiV cial, Her von Oelssen, who warned anti-Nazi pastors that they may be put against a wall and shot like recalcitrant brown-shirts. He added: "Pastor agitators should take care not to provoke a second purge like the one on June 30,1934, when the Fuhrer ruthlessly shot down old Nazi fighters because they did not heed his warnings. Similarly in the Church conflict the time will come when Herr Hitler's patience will be exhausted. He will then put obstinate pastors out of action. I hope they understand me."
