TRAMWAY BOARD’S NEW BUSES
FOUR DIESEL CHASSIS ON RUAHINB
Four new Diesel-engined motorbuses which the Tramway Board has purchased arrived on the Ruahine yesterday' and will be delivered to the board’s sheds within the next few days. With the arrival later in the year of the six new buses to be purchased out of the £20,000 loan which was recently sanctioned, these vehicles will make a very big addition to the board’s growing fleet. The four motor-buses each cost £.1500. The bodies will be built in the board’s, own workshops. Two ot the buses will be used as stand-by vehicles for the Richmond-North Beach trolley-bus route and the other two will replace vehicles which have outlived their usefulness. The shipment from London of the six additional buses to be purchased out of the loan is expected to start at the end of February.
