One hundred calls, were responded to for the week by the , St. John Am-, bulance. These included 10 accidents ■and three country calls.’ In the latter case the mileage was. 84. The total mileage lor the. week was . 542. Brigade Appointments The following ■ appointments have been approved by the Chief Commissioner for the Dominion: Selwyn Cadet Nursing Division—Dr. C. L. E. L. Sheppard to be Divisional Surgeon. St. Chad’s Cadet Ambulance Division —Roy F. Hough' to be Cadet Secretary.

Appointment Resigned Timaru Nursing Division—Mrs E. M. Youdale resigns, her ..appointment as Lady - Divisional Superintendent, and transfers to the Reserve. > ■Formation, of New Divisions , The Chief Commissioner has provisionally- of the formation-: of the following new- divisions:-f-' -St, Chad's Cadet Ambulance Division as from 10/5/35. Sumner' Nursing ’ Division as from 27/12/35. ' Divisional Notes 1 The Selwyri Nursing Division met in the brigade rooms'on Tuesday evening, when Mrs Watt presided Over a fair attendance of members. During the evening first- aid practice was undertaken and duties for - the week arranged. There, was.a fair attendance of members of--the Lyttelton; Railway Ambulance Division on Monday evening ih the. sub-centre rooms. Superintendent J. Lister was in charge and the evenr ing wag* devoted to a series of tests in splinting and bandaging. Superintendent Lister reported that the syllabus had been approved and printed copies were handed, to the members. * * At the weekly meeting of the St. Matthew’s Nursing Division there was a’good attendance, over which the Lady Superintendent; Miss Conway, presided. After:public?, duty was arranged, questions were asked on chapter 3 of the first aid book. Later Mr Rudd took the division; for drill. Mrs Childerston, Nursing Officer of the New Plymouth Division, paid a visit to the brigade rooms on Wednesday and was much interested in the work being done there by the division on duty. The Assistant Commissioner, Dr. F. J. Borrie, paid a visit to “Whare-Kura” on Saturday evening, when he inspected the Linwood Rover Scout Ambulance Division and explained some of the rules and regulations. During the evening he presented three-year service chevrons to Sergeant C. H. Whall, Privates O. E. Clark, H." E. Collins and A. G. Tourell. The secretary reported that two members of the division had been-doing night duty at the ambulance rooms since January 20. Members of the New Brighton Nursing Division met in the High School on Monday evening, Mrs E, Collard presiding over a good attendance. Mrs A. E. .Fricker, Lady Corps Superintendent, was present and inspected the division. Later first aid stunts were practised. The social committee of the combined divisions (ambulance and nursing) met at the conclusion of the divisional meeting and discussed methods of raising funds during the winter months. It was resblved to leave the matter until next week, when enquiries will be made regarding hall accommodation. There was a fair attendance of members of the Christchurch Nursing Division on parade on Monday evening. Miss J. Pegler was in charge and took the members in bandaging. Duty was arranged for picnics and dressing station. Two new members were accepted on probation. Miss K. Tipping, a popular and valued member, has resigned from the division. The No. 3 Ambulance Division held its usual weekly , parade, at ters on Thursday ■ evening. Superintendent D. J. Somerville was in charge of the parade, and there were 22 members present. Dunlop, c/o St. John Ambulance headquarters. Christchurch. ■/;’ Meetings of the No. 1 Girl 1 Guide Nursing Division for the 1936 session resumed on Tuesday evening at brigade headquarters. A good attendance of members was recorded, Miss G. A. Donaldson, lady divisional . super-? intend ent. being in charge of the parade. During the early part of the evening a “Question Bee” ■ was held, and later the time was devoted to a revision of first aid work. The Lyttelton Nursing Division held the second parade for She year in the Lyttelton, sub-centre rooms. Mr J. Dickson was present and members were put through first aid tests, after which they were complimented on their work. Duties were later arranged for the week. ,
