|, annual meeting held 'An increase of from 20 to 30 in the membership? of -the West Christchurch Old Boys’ Association was noted in tljo annual report, which was presented at the annual meeting of the association, presided over by Mr E. K. Phillips. The roll was now stated to stand at more than 340. The subscriptions totalled nearly £8 more than in 1934. i Satisfaction was expressed at the raising of the status of the school from a district high school to a high school, which ; had always been one of the Ideals of the association. jDuring the year the first prize had been •-presented from the* Nicholson Memorial Fund, which, having now reached,the required amount, would be used to provide a prize for the school. The year 1935 was an eventful one for the association, it was Stated; all difficulties had been overcome, and the year had been successful financially and socially. Thanks for assistance given was expressed to Mr L. F. de Berry and the staff Of the school in 1935, to the newspapers, and to members and others Who had offered their services or had made donations. The financial statement showed a cash in hand balance of £ls 10s 4d. The club room fund stood at £206 14s fid. 'The. report,and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr F. D, Waller; president, Mr E K, Phillips; vice-presidents; Messrs C. D. Sheppard and W. W. Brough; honorary secretary, Mr G. Voller; honorary treasurer, Mr W. Brough; honorary, solicitor, Mr J.. K. Moloney; honorary auditor, Mr R. W. King; committee, Messs Lloyd Arnold, L. Bigg, F; C. Bird, G. Craig, W. Hadley, J. E. Henwood, H. McWhirter, and B. R. Walker. Mr L. F, -de Berry was elected an honorary life member.
