Sir, —During the- last few years that extremely brutal type of "sport" known as wrestling has slowly edged its way into prominence throughout New Zealand .and is having an injurious effect upon the mind of the.rising generation. It has, in fact, been allowed too much publicity. To spend from 2s 3d to 5s tfd in order to see two men endeavouring to drag each other to the mat, is, to say the least of it, lucicrous, and especially so when the suspicion is widely entertained that some of the professional bouts are already finalised before the contestants enter the ring. I hope the more civilised section of our fair Dominion will rise up and crush such Torutality to the ground.— Yours, etc.. B.P. February 13. 1936.
