Injustice.—You do not sign your letter. Genuine.—No name and address given. Interested.—Mr R. Bailey, officer in charge of the Labour Department, said .that an employee was to work not more than a 48-hour week, and had to finish by 9.30 p.m. each day, or by 1 o'clock on the day of the half-day. Overtime was not permitted except for stock-taking, and the rate for this was time and a half. Enquirer.—The Northern Monarch arrived at Lyttelton •on February !, 1879, but the passengers did not land until February 7 as the ship was quarantined. Captain M. H. Ransom was in command. Kaye Hoe.—As was mentioned in “The Press” of January 22. there is now no Prince of Wales. The heir apparent to the throne, if the eldest, or eldest surviving son of the sovereign, bears regularly the title of Prince of Wales, but by Individual investment and not by birth.
