OUTBURST AGAINST JEWS

FUNERAL OF MURDERED NAZI LEADER

ORGANISED ASSASSINATIONS ALLEGED

Herr Hitler and practically all the members of the Cabinet attended the funeral of Herr Wilhelm Gustloff, the former Nazi group leader in Switzerland, at Schwerin. The,service was broadcast throughout Germany. “You did hot die in vain,” said Herr Hitler, turning towards the coffin. “Hitherto the Jews have used others as dupes. They have been responsible for countless murders in post-war Germany; but the Nazi movement was not responsible for a single political murder. The Jews are our enemies. They have flung down the gauntlet. In killing one they have awakened thousands. We will accept their challenge.” Describing Herr Gustloff as a holy martyr of the movement, Herr Hitler said that his picture would in future hang in the office of every Nazi organisation abroad. It is announced that a, residential square in a fashionable street in west Berlin, where a number of Jewish families , are living, has been renamed Gustloff square; The “Allegemeine Zeitung” warns the nations not to be surprised if the Nazi programme is now carried put with greater determination: ■ “Malignant' Power” In a ferocious attack against communists and Jews at the funeral of Herr Gustloff, Herr Hitler said: “There is a guiding hand which organised this crime and will organise others. There has been an endless series of cowardly murders of national socialists from ambush, “This is no incident. Behind each murder stood the same power which is responsible for the murder of Gustloff—the malignant power of our Jewish enemy, to whom we have not done any wrong, but who toed to enslave the German people. Now national socialism alroad has its first martyr in a man who stood up for Germany, which is not only his sacred right, but his duty. “It is to the credit; of Switzerland that no one agreed to carry out this deed, sp, for the first time, the spiritual originator had to do it .himself. Gustloff fey by. the power which wages a fanatical fight, not .only against the German , people, . but against every free and independent people.”
