BROADSIDING AND STUNTS

TO-MORROW’S PROGRAMME AT MONICA PARK

SPECTACULAR GRANDSTAND RIDE

Thrills are promised patrons of Monica Park speedway to-morrow night, for, in addition to a big programme of exciting broadsiding races, there will be presented two items that are distinctly unique. The first—which should prove the highlight of an evening of thrills —will be the presentation, for the first time here, of Putt Mossman’s ride from the top of the grandstand. An extraordinary exhibition of nerve and motor-cycling skill, this stunt, which culminates in a crash through two flaming board-walls (each as thick as the one used during Mossman’s last appearance here), is voted by trick motor-cyclists the world over to be easily the most spectacular and daring item in Mossman’s extensive repertoire of sensational feats. The second big attraction will be the world-famous ladder-climbing act—only this time the world’s champion trick motor-cyclist will use a ladder two feet higher than the one used when he was last here. Twelve broadsiding races will be included in the programihe, the principal events being! a series of contests between the best American riders and the New Zealand champions. Besides Mossman, the leader, the full United States team includes Sam Arena, of San Jose, California (who will be making his first appearance here), Manuel Trujillo, the Californian who rose from B grade rider to scratch man in six months; Pee Wee Cullum, the popular clown of the team; Ray Grant, from Portland, Oregon; Ewald Schnitzer, the daring rider from New York City; Bo “Tiger” Lisman, and Byrd McKinney, of Pasadena, California. These stars of the cinder track will meet New Zealand's best. Including Wally KUmister, who holds the title of champion of the Dominion. There will be no increase in prices for • this special attraction, and free, parking is again offered patrons. Special trams will run at frequent Intervals from Cathedral square. If it is wet to-morrow night, the meeting will be held on Monday. '
