Music and colour will both have a jftominent place in new films to be made in 1936. A full-length technicolour film, “The Trail of the Lonesome Pine,” is scheduled by Paramount, which will celebrate its silver jubilee this year. The film will exploit ; the scenic splendours of the Rockies, among: other natural delights. One of the most ambitious of this studio’s productions will be “Faust.” The famous opera will be filmed by Pabst, one of the .greatest of the Gerdirectors, in association with the Metropolitan Grand Opera of New York. Other operas will follow if “Faust” is a success. Another musical is David Belasco and Walter Tally’s “Rose of. the Rancho, an opera in which Gladys S war thou t, a Metropolitan Opera singer, makes her debut. "Jan Kiepura This Wght ” rd 3nd in “ GiVe US Gary Cooper and Ann Harding are to be together in “Peter Ibbetson.”
