HOB-SLEIGH RACE WON BY SWITZERLAND
GARMISCH PARTENKIRCHEN, February 12. Switzerland gained first arid second places in the Olympic bob-sleigh race. Britain was third.
Mrs Nina Greig, widow of the famous composer, who recently died at the age of 90, while not reckoned as a great singer in her day, had a captivating abandon, dramatic vivacity, and solilfulness that were reminiscent of Jenny Lind, states the London “Daily Telegraph.” She made her, last public appearance in London with her famous husband in 1898, when the artist pair gave one of their piano and song, recitals.- Mrs Grieg’s burial place will be that of her husband, which is as romantic as his music. His a«&es lie, at his own request, near his old home, close to Bergen. Not far away is a steep cliff. 50 feet high, projecting into a fjord. Half-way up there is a natural grotto, which can be. approached only by boat. In this spot rests his urn. and a stone slab with the words “Edvard Grieg” cut upon it is cemented in the cliff.'
