MAJOR DOUGLAS GIVES OFFENCE
INVESTIGATION BY ALBERTA LEGISLATURE EDMONTON (Alberta), Feb. 11. On the demands of tbe Liberal leader (Mr Howson), and the Conservative leader (Mr Duggan), a special committee of the Legislature will investigate the remarks alleged to have been made in London by Major C. H. Douglas, which are declared to be offensive to 1 both the Canadian and Alberta Governments. About the proposed Dominion Loan Council it is alleged that Major Douglas stated: “If the provinces allow the remaining autonomies in regard to the most important factor, their Constitution and finances, to be filched away from them, I have little doubt that democracy will be doomed.”
