It was decided to write to the City Council asking if any industrial- or residential areas had been defined in that Woolston or Opawa districts, and what action it would take if application were made for the establishment of further industries on the banks of the Heathcote river. It also asked that the association should be consulted before any permits were granted. It was decided to ask the Heathcote County Council to give attention to the roadway in Clarendon terrace between the Opawa and Railway bridges, and also to form and set back the dangerous corner approaching the. Opawa bridge. Mr A. J. Coveney, who has been secretary of the association for nearly seven'years, was unanimously elected a life member. ; .
