RAILWA Y CROSSING SMASH AT FENDALTON.—Mr A. Thain, of Christchurch, had a miraculous escape from serious injury when the milk van he was driving crashed into a train at the Fendalton road level crossing at 835 a.m. yesterday. The van was completely wrecked, and parts of the bodywork were scattered all over the road and the permanent way.
