ARMY AND NAVY VETERANS
MEETING OP ASSOCIATION
The usual monthly meeting of the Veterans' Association of Army, Navy, and Auxiliary Forces was held In the association rooms, Oxford terrace, Mr A. H, Joseph, president, was in the chair, and there were present; Messrs W, A. Beck, J, K. Thompson, E, A, Knight, W. Greenway, L, Hussy, C. Peagram, T, R, Cotton, and the secretary, Mr W. L. Glanville. The president referred to the death of King George V-, and a motion of sympathy and loyalty to the Royal Family was recorded. Reference was also made of the passing away of the soldier poet, Rudyard Kipling, of South African War fame,
The secretary was instructed to forward a letter of sympathy to Mr T E, Murphy, a member of the association, in the loss of his son in a motor-cycle accident.
The secretary, in explaining the financial statement, mentioned that £37 had been paid out in relief. One new member was elected. It was decided that the annual meeting be held on February 22.
The president reported that Lieu-tenant-Colonel A, «, L, King-Mason, formerly of the Bengal Grenadiers, would give a lecture, supported by lantern slides, to. members in the association rooms on February 86, and he hoped there would be a large attendance.
Before closing the meeting, Mr Joseph stated that as this was the last meeting of the executive before the annual meeting, he would take this opportunity of thanking the members for their courtesy and loyal support during his two years as president, The spirit of comradeship and harmony that existed at all meetings made his term of office a pleasure, and he was sure that the same spirit would be shown to bis successor, It was very gratifying that the financial statement showed considerable improvement in every direction, and there was no doubt that the association bad turned the corner,
