NAZIS ARREST AN ENGLISHWOMAN
♦ ALLEGED TO HAVE TAKEN NOTES AT MEETING
CONFISCATION OF PERSONAL PAPERS
(Received February 6, 7.10 p.m.) MUNICH, February 5.
An Englishwoman, Miss Frances Blackett, was arrested at a political meeting. She was accused of taking notes and of not giving the Nazi salute. Miss Blackett was searched and kept in custody all night, not being allowed to communicate with the British Consul, and was released at noon.
Her notebook and personal papers were confiscated. Miss Blackett is a Conservative speaker in London, having been in Germany for several months studying socialism and political questions.
