FINE DISPLAY AT LYTTELTON
BIG ENTRIES RECEIVED
Large entries, particularly in the decorative and children's sections, were received for the first annual gladioli and dahlia show under the auspices of the Lyttelton branch of the Young Women's Christian Association, and opened in the Drill Hall • yesterday afternoon. Dr A. C. McKillop, who judged the entries, spoke fprourably of the display. He awarded the prize for the premier bloom, to L. Blackler for a Patiti, one of six blooms entered by this exhibitor in the open class. D. M. Hill won the prize lor the premier bloom in the amateur section, and W. Q. Lee, with a fine bloom of Mrs Anna Pfitzer, was the winner of the beginners' section. The show will be continued this afternoon and evening. Awards were made as follows: OPEN CLASS
