UNIVERSITY RUGBY TEAM IN JAPAN
GOOD MATCH WON ON HEAVY GROUND
(Received February 7, 12.15 a.m.) TOKYO, February 6. The New Zealand University Rugby team defeated Waseda by 22 points to 17. The game was postponed from yesterday because of a fall of 16 inches of snow. The ground was cleared, but was heavy. The team played well in spite of the difficulty in fielding the ball. It is anticipated that most of the players will be available for the first test on Sunday. New Zealand scored six tries and Waseda three. The New Zealand scorers were Jones, Watt, Thomas, Laney, McAuliffe, and Wilson. Bush converted two tries.
