MISHAP TO THE RAGATIRA
MAGISTERIAL ENQUIRY TO BE HELD
MINISTER'S ANNOUNCEMENT
' (PBBSS ASSOCIATibX TELEGRAM.) ' WELLINGTON, February 6. A magisterial enquiry into the mishap to the Union Steam Ship Company's inter-island steamer express Rangatfra will be held at an early date, the Minister, for Marine (the Hon. P. Fraser) said to-day. The date of the enquiry and the names of the assessors would be announced as soon as possible. Pumping and'diving operations proceed ,on the Rangatira. Her bows v l e i.? Jsen about three feet, indicating that the .water being reduced. The general manager of the Union Steam Ship Company (Mr J. W. Matthewson) said to-day that the water was being pumped out satisfactorily, but the company was not in a position to say when the vessel could be docked, but it was would be possible within the next few days..
