GARDEN PARTY
' At the home of Mrs H. D. Andrews, wife of the chancellor of the Christchurch Diocese, a garden party was hels in aid of St, Luke’s Church building fund. Miss Ada Bowker, in declaring the party open, congratulated the parishioners on the splendid result of their continued effort to reduce the building fund debt, which now stood at less than £2OO. The following were the stalls and stallholders:—Needlework, Is stall, and Christmas calendars, Mrs H. D. Andrews; 3d stall, Miss Priscilla Foster; cake stall, Mrs Weir and Mrs L. W. Clark; sweets, Mrs Maurice Johnston; ice-cream, Mrs Worthington; afternoon tea, Mothers’ Union; flowers, Miss May Stewart. VISITORS TO CHRISTCHURCH Royal Hotel—Mrs S. Grace (Nelson) and Miss Ford (Wellington). New City Hotel: Dr. and Mrs F. Wood (Nightcaps), Lady E. Samuel (London), Mrs Agnes Dexter (Toledo, lowa, United States), Dr. Vivia Appleton (Honolulu). Warner’s Hotel: Miss M. Douglas (Ethelton). United Service Hotel: Mr and Mrs G. G. Duddell (Federated Malay States), Mr and Mrs J. D. Parsons (Waitotara). Coker’s Hotel—Mr and Mrs E. G. .Whittleston (Cromwell) and Miss A. Shea (Timaru). ,
