SALE OP AUCKLAND HOUSE PROPERTY

PRICE OF £9150 PAID (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 13. What was stated to be probably the best price received for several years at an auction sale of house property was realised when £9150 was paid for “Ballinard,” the residence in Remuera road of the late Miss M. T. Horton. The property was purchased by the Hon. J. Alexander, M.L.C., on behalf of a client. “I do not know of anything which has sold so well at an auction since the depression,” said a business man in close touch with the property market. “It has to be remembered, however, that good places of this sort do not frequently come oh to the market, and that there were three buyers bidding keenly for it,” The property comprises a twostoreyed wooden house of about 13 rooms and offices, standing in about an acre of ground, with a frontage ox 208 feet six inches to Remuera road. The grounds are beautifully laid out in flower beds, lawns, and shrubs, and the site, which is one of the finest m Auckland, commands a ™ view of the harbour and the Hauraki proceeds of the sale will be invested by the trustees of Miss Horton’s estate, their eventual destination being the Auckland Anglican CathedrTfUnd, should the terms of Miss Horton’s will m respect of the fund be fulfilled.
