A MOVING PICTURE RACE GAME

This little game, which is great fun, can be made by any boy or girl from materials to hand. Cut some pieces of card—old postcards will answer the purpose—3| inches long by 1J inches wide.

About U inches from the bottom end score lightly across the card so that it will bend easily as you can see in Fig. 1; then it will stand up as in Fig 2. Next cut out some figures from a book or catalogue, or draw some figures yourselves, and paste them on to the little cards. Having got these ready borrow an old tray, or a wide cardboard box lid, and rule in chalk or pencil some lines from one end to the other.

These lines should be at equal distances apart, and wide enough to stand your little figures on, leaving a small margin. Now place your figures In line on the spaces, and your race is ready to begin. Each player will take it in turn to approach the picture he has chosen to “run,” and gently blow it as straight as he can, then the next player will try to gently blow his picture in the same manner, and so on in turn. If you send your picture across the line, of course it will go into the space that belongs to someone

else, so you must bring it back and await your turn to begin from the start again. Be careful that the cards are all the same size. The one whose picture reaches the far end of the tray first wins the game.
