Complaints that trees and ferns had been cut away to an unnecessary degree in the Mangamuka Gorge, North Auckland, were made by two members in reporting to the executive committee of the Auckland district council of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture. It was decided to send a letter of protest to the chairman of the Hobson County Council, and also to enquire concerning the suggested destruction of kauris north pf the gorge.
