CHRISTMAS CAMP AT NEW BRIGHTON

RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION NOT RESPONSIBLE An emphatic denial that the association was in any way connected with the scheme for the establishment of a Christmas camp for returned men at the New Brighton trotting grounds, was expressed at the meeting last night of the executive of the Christchurch Returned Solaiers' Association. The president, Mr B. O. Priddis. said that the St. Albans Soldiers' Society, a body formerly part of the association, but new entirely removed from it, was responsible for the scheme, and was soliciting donations in the city. Many people, he said, were under the impression that the scheme was sponsored by the Returned Soldiers' Association. It was decided that the association dissociate itself altogether from the scheme, and that steps be taken o remedy the false impression which had been gained.
