ROYAL WELCOME
FATHER CHRISTMAS ' '' 'arrives '4 ' HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN SEE i NOAH'S AftK • Father Christmas ' has arrived and confirms the statement of many prophets that we are to have a happy Christmas. His first appearance at the D.I.C, yesterday was a memorable occasion. Hundreds of children, their parents with them, formed a long line in Cashel street outside the building to watch him, come, and when he stepped up' to his throng high up on the top floor, with his two fairies in attendance, he was greeted with tre■mendqus'enthusiasm. into which fchildreri grown-ups alike entered. Father Christmas had a busy afternoon, probably one of the .busiest he has ever enjoyed, ahd the numbers and the enthusiasm of the most of them very - young, must have been very gratifying to him. He has certainly not lost any of his popularity, and judging by the glowing promises he gave to hid small admirers, he.is going to win the hearts of thousands' between' now and Christmas eve., ■ His first duty after his speech to his people, was to visit Noah's Ark. magic-cave for .this Christmas. He was followed into the ark by scores of children and their willing parents. Inside the cave Father Christmas. Jn- i troduced'his people to Noah, his wife, j ! his sons, and the animals. The ark is certainly a wonderful work of art. The animals going in two by two were a great attraction yesterday, and equally so Noah himself calling them in, his wire doing the washing, his sons Completing the building of the ark. and the monkeys cutting the timber. The movements of each-one have been skilfully prepared, and the whole scene is cleverly presented, so Jhat it claims the interest of grown-ups- as much as children, . Each child on entering the cave is presented with a handsome gift, and this, : together with the presentation of. Noah and his family, is excellent return for the small sum paid for admission.
lather Christinas has arrived very early, but he has hundreds of children to see, and his time will be fully occupied every day until Christmas eve.whenhe will leave the D.I.C. to distribute his 'gifts to his thousands of small friends.
