RATANA MEMORIAL
♦ UNVEILING CEREMONY AT TEMUKA (special to thb press.) TEMUKA, November 15. After several postponements, the memorial at Arowhenua pa was unveiled late yesterday afternoon. A procession was formed and went from the Maori Hall to the memorial led by the Ratana Morehu silver band, followed by Mr H. Te Reinga and Mr P. Paipeta, Ratana nurses, Mr W. T. Ratana, the Maori leader, and others of his fai,th. " At the memorial site Mrs Ratana offered an invocation, the band played a hymn, Mr Ratana following with an invocation. The shroud which had been covering the memorial during the week was drawn away and the band played a hymn composed during the day for the occasion. Mr E. T. Tirikatene gave a short address and read Mr Ratana's official greeting. After the gathering had heard greet-' ings from Te Pahu Horomona, an elder of the Ngati-Huirapa tribe, Mr and Mrs Ratana and family passed through the archway, and greetings were again exchanged. In the evening a concert was given, the visitors leaving afterwards for the north, the main party having left late in the afternoon.
