SUNSHINE AT ADDINGTON
VISITORS FOR THE DERBY Repenting of its evil ways during many days and many nights, the weather was a model of good behaviour yesterday, when the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club continued its spring meeting at Addington. There was great excitement caused by the Derby, and Mr and Mrs J. R. McKenzie received many congratulations on the success of their horse Double Great, who was decorated with the blue ribbon by Mrs J. H. Williams, wife of the president of the club. Honoured guests at the president's table at lunch with Mrs Williams and Mr Frank Graham, vice-president, were Captain E. R. Drummond, Commodore commanding the New Zealand station, and Lady Evelyn Drummond, Commander B. R. Willett and Mrs Willett, Mr T. J. Buxton (Auckland), Mr and Mrs B. McCarthy (Hawera), Mr and Mrs J. R. McKenzie, and Mr E. X. le Lievre. Mrs Williams wore a navy ensemble, the coat having a fur collar, and a navy straw hat banded with cire ribbons. Others present were Mrs W.
