BREACH OF GAMING ACT 'PEI3S AS3OCIiTIOH ULIORAM.) DUNEDIN, November 14. In the Magistrate's Court this afternoon, before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., Martha McCluskey (42), a widow, pleaded guilty to using a dwelling-house in Castle streets as a common gaming house. The police stated that from the betting material seized to-day it was evident that the defendant conducted a fairly extensive business. A telephone and table were installed in a front room. A fine of £lO was imposed, 14 days being allowed for payment, after the defendant had said she was not an agent but was "on her own." TWO DANNEVIRKE MEN FINED IFP.KS.S ASSOCIATION TBI.IGRAM.)
