THE DREAM BOAT
On the sea of night st: - V" "s riding, A silvery curved thread. Sometimes visible, sometimes hiding Behind darkening, billowy clouds. She is the fair dreamland , angel's boat Which carries a cargo of dreams, And loosed one by one, they gently float To the hushed earth below. So, new moon, sail your unchanging course. You go but to come again, And I pray, send dreams of faith and hope That will save mankind from the pain Of war of nation against nation, And war of man against man. That will give the world a wish to found Heaven on earth, the true heaven % Which will come, must comedos foreordained. For it is by dreams all things come, And nothing is but was once a dream. —MARION MAY, Christchurch.
