SANDERS AND CORNWELL CUPS PROVISIONS FOR SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTES Consideration is at present being given the proposals for the inclusion of a representative from Auckland province in the next Sanders Cup contest by the Canterbury Sailing and Power Boat Club. This, together with the resumption of the competition of the representatives of the southern ports in the Cornwell Cup should add much interest to yachting The 'Auckland Association has at present no boat that comes within the restrictions of the "Rona" one design 1923 plan, and so hopes to compete with a boat built either to the 1933 plans or one built to the restrictions suggested as suitable for stimulating interest in the class m AuckThe Canterbury Yachting Association is now awaiting the receipt of these restrictions, which affect the hull (the sail plan has not been altered), with a view to possible adoption with or without modification, so that the delegates at the conference in January may have authority to vote on this question. New Cornwell Cup Rales The following alterations- have been made in the rules of the Cornwell Cup races in order that this contest may be resumed as formerly as a contest of national standing:— (a) That if the delegates to the Cornwell Cup contest carry any resolution three years in succession then the Takapuna Boating Club must alter that rule accordingly. (b) That each competing port .riust either take its own boat to the contest or, subject to the approval of the other competing ports, arrange! for a boat to be there. Such, boat I must be put in order, and kept so throughout the contest by the port, owning the boat. I d: That the delegates to the contest be in sole charge of that contest, subject to the rules, and that they do not disband until the next contest. d: That any port winning the cup three or more times in succession shall have the right to defend it two years in succession only, on its own waters; but for the following year the conference delegates shall have power to allot the contest to any contesting port it thinks most entitled to it. e: That immediately following each Cornwell Cup contest a New Zealand junior monotype championship contest be held at the same port such contest to be sailed in the Takapuna one-de-sign boats, the boys taking part to be under 19 years of age on January 1 in the year of the contest. The Takapuna Boating Club agrees to the alteration of the rudder to a somewhat deeper type, in accordance with the plan submitted by, the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club. It was agreed that the 1936 contest be held at Auckland, the present holder (Taurange) having offered to waive its right to defend it there, on the understanding that if Auckland wins the cup in 1936, Tauranga will be allotted the 1937 contest.
