NEW GOLF CLUB FORMED COURSE AT RIVERLANDS AGREED UPON (SPBCLtL «0 TKB PBSSI.) BLENHEIM, September 13. A special meeting of the Blenheim Coif Club was held to discuss the establishment of new links at Riverlands, because of the congestion at the Pollard Park links. Mr F. Adams, in supporting the proposition that the club remove to links to be laid down at Riverlands, said that the property inspected by several members was very suitable for the purpose, the .turf being good. The new links would be about three miles from town. Mr Hursthouse, who opposed the project, stated that the turf on this property was not suitable for forming greens. , This was' one' of the reasons why the Marlborough Golf Club; which used the same property some years ago for its links, moved from this locality and formed new links at Fairhall. After a full discussion the resolution was defeated by an overwhelming majority. At the conclusion of the meeting about 18 members met to go into the matter of forming a new club at Riverlands. Mr F. Adams gave an outline of the project He said there was plenty of room to lay down IS holes; the lease of the property would be £l2 10s for the first year and £2O to £25 per annum after the first-year, for a term of five years, with right of renewal. There was a small building on the property suitable for using as a club house.

A team of 28 Marlborough Club players journeyed to the South Marlborough Club's links to play the local team for the Bennett-Masefield mug. South Marlborough won a close match by nine to seven.
