MR T. R. MOORE

The death has occurred at Palmerston North, at the age of 90, of Mr T. R< Moore, a well-known cltitta* of longstanding. Born at Salisbury, England, Mr Moore came to New Zealand with his parents in the sailing ship Sir George Pollock in 1850, landing at Lyttelton. After leaving school, he entered the service of the Union Bank. In 1874 Mr Moore engaged in rhcep-farming in Hawke's Bay with his brother-in-law, Mr H. Meinertzhagen, their station being of 35,000 rcres, and running 13,000 merino sheep. Mr Bustard, who was for many years a resident of Redcliff, Waimate, was born at Ireland, in 1853. When 25 -years old! he travelled in one of the first steam ships, the s.s. Chimberasoj to Australia, where he took up general farming for several year*. i Hearing good accounts of the prospects in New Zealand he crossed the Tasraan and landed at Auckland. Mr Bustard again took up farming at Hamilton, but later travelled to Wangello, Southland, where in partnersnip with his brother, Mr L Bustard, now of St. Andrews, he was engaged in similar work for 15 years. He was next engaged at Redcliffs, Waimate, where he resided until a few we«;ks before his death. Mr Bustard took a very active part in church work, and was a valued member of the community. He gladly gave his help and sympathy in cases of sickness and sorrow. The funeral was largely attended. Mr L. J, Hodson officiated at the graveside. A memorial service was held at the Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews, when the Rev. J. B. Kirk, of Waihao Forks, conducted the service.
