BRITISH CARS AT LE MANS
LONDON, July 24. In the 24 hours' Le Mans Classic. British cars met with outstanding sue cess. Although the weather was bad It was a magnificent race fraught with surprises, bitterly bad luck, plucky performances, rewardeu by victory and a sweeping demonstration of British Sports car qualities. Of the 5R cars of all makes that faced the starter 28 finished. The open class was won by a 4$ Litre Lagonda at an average speed of 77.85 miles per hour, and in the 1003 C C class. Singer Nines gained Ist, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th places at an average speed of 64.17 miles per hour for the 24 hours. —1
