* MINISTER PROMISES TO INSPECT SI'ECIAJ. TO MSB pnr.ss. l HOKITIKA, May 3. Messrs T. W. Duff, E. Heenan, and A. R. Elccck waited on the Minister to ask him to make representations to the Minister for Health (the Hon. Sir Alexander Young) on behalf of the Wcstland Hospital Board. The speakers emphasised the value of the hospital to the whole of South Wcstland. The number ot patients was steadily increasing and the institution, which was built to accommodate 40 patients, was being used for as many as 72. At present there were 60, including a large number of children, and this emphasised the need for a children's ward. Steps already taken for erecting a children's jubilee ward were outlined. The need for additional quarters for the nurses was also mentioned; 24 nurses were housed where provision had been originally made for 14.
