Mr and Mrs James Grant (Grey's Hills, Mackenzie Country) have returned from a visit to the North Island. Mrs J. B. Nicoll (Ashburton) will be the guest of Mrs L. E. Finch (Park lsrie) for the golf tournament this week. Miss J. Ewen" (Invercargill), who was the guest of Mrs'T. Seaton (Beverley road), left yesterday for Wellington! ' Miss Linley Glen (Geraldine) is the guest of Miss Dora Shirtcliff (Highfield). Mr and Mrs Frank Robinson (Springfield) are the guests of Mrs Gladstone Robinson ("Oakwood"). Mrs White is expected from the North Island on Friday to be the guest of Mrs Edgar-Jones ("Oliritiri"). Misses Joy and Brenda Cuthbertson (Oamaru) will be the guests of Mrs E. A. Scott for the golf tournament this week. Miss Mary Stone (Wai-iti road), is ! visiting Auckland. Mr and Mrs J. Mundell (Evans I street) are visiting Christchurch. Mrs P. B. Benham (Pleasant Point) , returned on Saturday,, U,lm a visit ; Wellington. Mrs J O. H. Tripp (Kurow), who is visiting her mother, Mrs R. L. Orbell ("The Croft," Park Lane), will return home early this week. Miss Denderah Rhodes proposed the toast of the Misses Shand, anc* Miss Dora Shirtcliff proposed the toasts of Mrs D . MacPherson and the Craighead Diocesan Scnool. Later the party attended a.picture theatre. The committee which arranged the dinner consisted of Mrs D. Unwln (president of the Old Girls' Association), Mrs G. H. R. Ulrich (vice-presi-dent), Mrs Keith de Castro, Miss Mary Stone. Miss Helen. Fox, Miss Margaret Kerr, Miss Dorothy, Cameron, and Miss Dora Shirtcliff (honorary secre- , tary). Thp guests of honour were Mrs MacPherson and Miss Nora Gregory. Others present were Mrs a M. A. Raymond, Misses Margaret Porritt,"Violet Livingstone (Dunedin), Dorothy Raymond, Molly Washbourn, Denderah Rhodes, Diana and Nan Orbell, Fonna Macdonpld, Sylvia,' Janet, and Molly Orbell, Margaret Rolleston, Johnstone.
