SATURDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) Mollie Millar ("Mr I\. J. McMenamin) and Harold David Millar were each charged with using obscene language. The female defendant was fined £5. in default one month's imprisonment. and the male defendant was fined £l, in default seven days' imprisonment. A youth, aged 19. who was also charged with using obscene language, was admitted to probation for 12 months. His name was ordered to be suppressed. Robert Charles Hogg was charged with obtaining £3 from John Watt by a false pretence. On the application of Chief-Detec-tive V/. H. Duntop, the accused was remanded till May 9. Bail was allowed at £SO, with a surety of £SO. CHILDREN'S COURT (Before Mr 11. A. Young, S.M.) Two boys, one aged 16 and the other aged 14, were charged with cycling at night without proper lights. The elder boy was admonished and discharged and the younger boy was fined 's. INQUEST ADJOURNED 0An inquest into the death of Thomas Edward Heward, a goldminer, of Waiuta, who died under an anaesthetic at the Christehurch Public Hospital on Friday morning, was opened on Saturday before Mr IT. A. Young, coroner. Fvidence of identification was given by Mrs Mary Houghton. Sergeant C. Murphy appeared for the police. The inquest was edjourned sine die, the coroner ordering that a post-mor-tem examination be carried out. CATARRH SUFFERERS.
