(Received May. 5, 10.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 4. F. J. Perry won the final of the men's singles, at the British hard court tennis championships at Bournemouth, beating H. W. Austin, 0-6, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0. The men's doubles was won by C. E. Malfroy and A. C. Stedman, who beat Farquharson and Kirby (South Africa) 6-3, 6-2, 6-1.

C. E. MALFROY Perry showed impressive form, but his physical attributes chiefly enabled him to gain the victory. Finding Austin too accurate, Perry concentrated on keeping the ball in play until his opponent lost accuracy through fatigue. Austin, in the second game of the fifth set. suffered from a baa attack of cramp, and the match was held up for live minutes, while Perry and officials massaged Austin. H. C. Hopman, correspondent of the Sydney "Sun" says "The match im-j pressed me. First, Perry is sure to j regain his superlative form of last year; second, Austin is still vulnerable to a player, who can keep rallies going and collect one of the iirst three sets." Perry had shown excellent form in the semi-final beating Prenn. i Miss Dorothy Round's defeat was not surprising, as she had a strained leg, which Miss Stammers skilfully exploited by means, of drop-shots. E. Malfroy and A. C. Stedman (N.Z.) beat R. H. M. Bertram (South Africa) and Hendrie, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0 N. G. Farquharson and V. G. Kirby (South Africa) beat Perry and Butler, 6-3, 2-6, 4-G, 6-3, 6-2. Final Malfroy and Stedman beat Farquharson and Kirby. 6-3. 6-2. 6-1.

Heeley, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. Final Tucky and Miss Scriven had a walkover. Women's Doubles Final Mrs J. B, Pittman and Miss A. M. Yorke had a walk-over. Miss Dearman had influenza and retired.
