♦ — NATIONAL CONTROL RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY ANTICIPATED It is unlikely now that the headquarters of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association will be removed from Wellington to Christchurch, as formerly proposed, but it is reported that there may shortly be a change in the secretaryship of the association. Mr L. A. Tracy, who has been secretary for a number of years, is expected to place his resignation before the next meeting of the council. He is reported to have the intention of leaving Wellington shortly, and Mr H. McCormick. who has been his partner in the legal firm of McMormick and Tracy, has been mentioned as a possible candidate f or election to the secretaryship. A few weeks ago there was strong support for the removal oi the headquarters of the association from Wellington, but it is stated that the < j, Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bar Centre is ~ now opposed to the change, whereas , before it had been included in the necessary quota of centres in favour of a change. It is now considered unlikely that the move for a removal of the headquarters will be carried forward any further.
