"CAMELCADE"
CANTERBURY COLLEGE 7-EVUE The height of student revelry during Capping Week will be reached on Tuesday, and Wednesday, and Thursday next, when the annual revue will be presented at the St. James' Theatre. As the name "Camelcade" might imply, the .show will have an Eastern flavour. Actually, the scene is a cosmopolitan hotel in Algiers, and legionaries, Arabs, camels, and tourists figure prominently in the personnel. The students' revue committee was very fortunate in obtaining the services of Bona Vaughan and Peggy Holmes for the arrangement of ballets. Rona Vaughan has studied ballet work overseas and consequently the women's ballets promise to be of a notably high standard. Peggy Holmes, whose artistic and versatile abilities are well known, has been responsible for bringing the men's ballet to a degree of efficiency not before seen in a college revue. The show. is a Bernard Beebe production and Christchurch theatregoers, knowing Mr Beebe's previous successes, will expect to be' delighted with his efforts on this occasion, and will not be disappointed-
Most of the music is the original composition of students. Messrs M. O'Brien, W. D. Foster, and G. V. Anderson. . '
The first half will be devoted to short , sketches by the houses, the Women's Club, and non-residential men, while "Camelcade" itself will occupy all the second half. Admission prices are very reasonable. Box plans are at the D.f.C.
