Corre tpondenra il invitsd and question* will b« answered. I Divisional Notes Members of the New Brighton Nursing Division met in the high school on Tuesday evening, Mrs E. Robertson, lady superintendent, being in charge. The first part of the evening was spent in bandage practice, and later Mr G. Price, attached to No. .3 ambulance cadets, took the members in squad and stretcher drill. Mrs A. L. Bishop, lady district superintendent, gave the final lecture to the first-aid class. Public duties for the week were arranged at the close of the meeting. The usual meeting of St. Matthew's Nursing Division took place on Monday evening. In the absence of the lady superintendent, Miss Cruden, divisional officer, was in charge. Individual practice in first aid provided an interesting half-hour, until the arrival of Dr. Andrew Stenhouse, who, in a very explicit manner, explained the circulation of the blood relative to his talk on the treatment of woundj>,.| The speaker also emphasised the necessity of a thorough knowledge of the importance of pressure points, in cases of wounds and bleeding. At the conclusion, the thanks of the division were returned to Dr. Stenhouse for his great assistance. There was a fair attendance of members of the Lyttelton Railway Ambulance Division which met on Monday 'evening. Superintendent J. Lister was in charge. Tests were given in "improvised tourniquet" work. U was decided to take part in the jubilee procession, in Lyttelton on Monday next. A motion of sympathy and best wishes for a speedy recovery was passed to Mr F. Mintey, jun., who is at present in the Christchurch Hospital. There was a fair attendance of, members of the Beckenham Nursing Division at their regular parade on Thursday evening. Mrs M. Gay, Lady Superintendent, was in charge. Mrs A. E. Fricker, Lady Corps Superintendent, was also present, and later gave members practice in roller bandaging. A proposal that Mrs Mackwell be made an officer in the division, was carried unanimously. Public duties were arranged- for the week. The usual parade of the Christchurch Ambulance Division was held on Wednesday evening, Superintendent W. M. Palmer presiding over a good attendance. When the business of the evening v/as concluded the Divisional Surgeon. Dr. Walton Eremner, delivered an instructive lecture on "Haemorrhage."
