ST. ALBANS RECREATION CLUB

ANNUAL MEETIM.

The forty-third annual meeting of the St. Albans Recreation Club was held in the club rooms, Winton street There was a good attendance of members, the president, Mr 3. W. H- Francis, being in the chair. The annual report stated that the year just ended had been a good one. socially and financially. Competitions had been well patronised and keenly contested. The A. C. Wilson Cup, for billiards and snooker championship, had been won by J. Johns, and the president's trophy by F. W. Porteous. Social evenings with the Sydenham Library and the St. Albans Library Social Club were very pleasant. Many life members and officers had foregathered on president's evening; The balance-sheet showed that receipts had been £3BO 18s lid, expenditure £277 19s 7d, and that there were cash balances of £5 12s 7d in hand, £2 14s 5d at the Union Bank df Australasia, Ltd.. and £94 12s 4d at the Post Officer Savings Bank. Assets were £1614 Os 5d and liabilities £4715 16s 2d. The sum of about £7O had been spent in improving club properties, all of which were now in good order. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr J. W. H. Francis; vicepresidents, Messrs J. W. Beaniand. J. N. Du Feu, C. R. Watkinson, C. Spfcer. A. C. Wilson, C. Hall, L. A. Gordon, J. G. Cook, E. R. Caygill, and R. Rundle; secretary, Mr C. J. M. Winter; treasurer, Mr E. H. C. Ridder; executive, Messrs L. A. Gapes, R. Cockayne, A. Day, H. T. Wilson, D. J. Winter. W. Bestman. and A. Tretheway; auditors, Messrs H. E. Powell and M. A. Chappie; librarian, Mr G. Hamilton; delegate to A.C.P.A., Mr W. Bestman. Votes of thanks were passed to out- ! going officers and to the chairman, and the meeting was brought to a close.
